We’re so happy to be back and what a great start to gigging season 2018!
Sunday 25th March, we were in our beloved capital city at the first London Landmarks Half Marathon. The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a brand new, closed road, central London run. It is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster. The event is owned and organised by baby charity, Tommy's who came up with the idea in 2014. Around 100 charities were represented by close to 10,000 runners. Bloco Fogo were honoured to be there supporting the charity Macmillan, raising funds for the incredible work they do, supporting people whose lives are affected by cancer.
The sun did not make an appearance, for which the runners were grateful, however at the 8 mile point, on the corner of King William Street, the runners had their very own Band of Fire, playing our funky Samba grooves to warm their hearts and give them a boost.
They loved it, first with big, infectious smiles, waves and then the Samba was in their steps as they danced around the corner and continued their inspirational feat.
We must express our massive appreciation to everyone who took part and special thanks to Macmillan who took such good care of us and gave us delicious cake, of course.
We are looking forward to our next gig. See you soon...
