NIjmegen Salsa and Samba Festival 2012

We were back for the second time at the 2 day Nimegen Salsa and Samba festival which seems to grow from strength to strength being bigger and better than last year with the inclusion of more bands, and a Samba parade. Fantastic Weather brought in the crowds as did the music and noise from the 20 or so bands attending this year.

Numbering almost 30 players we performed 8 sets around town with Jaz, Sal and Cheryl mestreing, and a final set at Calais port waiting for the ferry, to the the delight of the several hundred people waiting for their delayed crossing, I don't think the port has seen anything like us before.

An amazing weekend, with fantastic hosts in a great place. We will be back for more.

Tunbridge Wells Festival 2012

A two day festival in Tunbridge Wells with over a hundred stalls in the Pantiles and along the high street, which was specially closed for the event. Bloco Fogo played a couple of sets by the Millenium clock in the heart of the town centre, drawing large crowds.

For our second set we paraded everyone down to the old Opera house to cheer on Batman who was abseiling down the front of the building for charity.

Check out the giant pig outside the museum, which hosted a show which the audience had to suckle up to the pig to watch, genius idea !

Coburg 2012

Our 6th time at the International Coburg Festival and the event continues to get bigger and better.
3000 Percussionists and dancers and 300,000 people
We opened up the festival with a 30 minute set on Schlossplatz, then had sets at Stadt Cafe, Alberts Platz and Ehrenburg plus of course the main parade on the Sunday.
A truly inspirational event and each year the bar is raised higher providing something to aim for and more ways to improve our performance.
