English fetes are amazing, cake stalls, Pimms and lemonade, tombolas, beer tents, bric a brac, raffles, strawberries and cream, crockery smashing, kids dancing and Samba !
We led the parade of children from the village green in Horsmonden, through to the school, waking up the villagers as we went. The children all dressed in colours of the world followed, with smiles on their faces, proud of their costumes and masks they had made representing their own specific country.
It was lovely to see the reception class doing their version of the Maori Hakka and then the older children dancing round the Maypole with their county dancing, before we went back into the area for a couple more sets throughout the afternoon.
Lovely to be back at this school fete after first visiting a few years ago.
