New Romney Country Fayre

Back again for about the ninth time at the New Romney Country Fayre, one of the favourites on our calendar. A fabulous parade through the streets of New Romney up to St Martin's Field where the crowds were waiting.  Over 150 stalls kept everyone busy and a variety of performances in the two arenas, including birds of prey, clowns, marching bands, dance groups, a horse display and of course Bloco Fogo kept everyone entertained throughout the afternoon.

New Romney - We'll see you next year !

New Romney Country Fayre

Back again at New Romney Country Fayre for this great friendly event a packed fayre held across two fields with a parade involving the entire community. We love being part of this event, and the organisers love us attending too because we bring that carnival atmosphere to proceedings. Such is our long-standing relationship with this event that we have even been immortalised in a mural adjacent to one of the arenas. Air Cadet bands, dog display acts, gymnastics, the Hawkinge Flyers, Belly dancers and some great cake, craft and food stalls all come together in this most typical of English Fayres.

New Romney Country Fayre

Back again at the New Romney Fayre for a fast parade through the town and a couple of sets in the arena. A nice hot sunny day after weeks of rain and it felt like summer was finally here.

Sitting with a picnic in the shade we spotted a mural on the wall capturing the essence of the Fayre that had been painted by a local artist, and with Bloco Fogo having such a long running history with the event, Jan (bottom surdo) made it into the picture.

Unfortunately our last set was cut short as everything was over running because a peregrine falcon decided to fly away and not come back !
