Trinity Foyer Big Lunch

Helping to celebrate The Big Lunch at Trinity Foyer.
The team there do a great job and have been very supportive of us over the years so it is great that we are able to contribute to their community event.

The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of communities. In 2014, 4.83 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the sixth annual Big Lunch.

Trinity Foyer Big Lunch 2014

The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of community across the UK. Last year 3.65 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the fifth annual Big Lunch. This year's Big Lunch was on Sunday 1 June 2014.

Trinity Foyer hosted a their own Big Lunch and welcomed in all their neighbours and supporters for a special get together, something we loved being a part of. Nearly 30 players, including many of our newer members, had a blast opening the event and playing throughout the afternoon.

Lovely to welcome back Jazmin, on a brief visit back to the UK, who even jumped in to mestre a couple of tunes and Jemma, back after the birth of her beautiful baby Ruby !

Many thanks to Phil Lee Photographics for the use of his photos (8-13).

The Selfie Challenge

So what do we do in between gigs to fill the time?
Practice, practice, practice, because we all know what that makes !

But it's not as boring as it might sound. Our rehearsal sessions are at the heart of what we do and how we embed ourselves in the music and really get to feel the rhythm.  They are hard work, exhausting, challenging, rewarding, a work out, a great place to gel with the band, but most of all are a load of FUN !

With 2 sessions every week on Tuesdays in Tunbridge Wells at the Forum from 7:30 to 9:30 and on Wednesdays in Maidstone at The Trinity Foyer from 7:30 to 9:30, we certainly put in the hours to produce the sound we do.

But now there seems to be a new challenge being laid down, that of the Group Selfie and who can come up with the most innovative way of capturing those that that attend the sessions !

Below are just a few of the more recent shots, but I think that this one will run and run, so watch out for more posts to follow.
